Start to finish, this cake took an afternoon. During the downtime (cake cooling, etc.) we watched old Ace of Cakes episodes to get inspired. They make it look easy! Our cherry and stem are magically made from Twizzlers (heat + pressure = cooking). The cake was baked in loaf pans, split, and reassembled to look like a genuine slice.
