I decided to recreate this cute design in really cute form :D - so I made mini cupcakes, using a recipe for flourless chocolate cupcakes that I knew were really yummy!
After I had made the cupcakes, I started out with (obviously) an icecream cone, and then coloured and shaped fondant to make each cupcake look like the icecream scoops in the picture :D. Then I used more fondant to make their eyes.
Next came the nerve-wracking task of assembling it, which I got my Mum to help with :D - I stuck two skewers through each cupcake to hold them together, and then covered the skewer with more fondant to make them look like legs. Finally I attached more fondant as little arms!
I haven't eaten it yet (as I don't want to take it apart yet!) but my family and I have eaten several of the excess mini-cupcakes and they are very very nice :D.
