I wanted to see what I could do with a simple design. This is what I came up with. It's 7 layers, using a set of hexagonal antique store cake pans a friend once gave me. The "scales" are made of candy wafers, aka fake chocolate, tinted to the same shades as the original design. Yes, I piped them all individually, and stayed up far to late assembling the whole thing. Note to self: next time start with the bottom layer first.

I know it's not the fanciest, most complicated, or beautiful entry, but I really like it anyway.
