So this is my threadcakes entry. I'm not going to lie I decide to wait to the last minute to even think about making this cake. I've never come even close to decorating a cake this detailed.
The design came to me pretty quickly so I drew the sketch before I could forget it. Then I played around with making fondant for the first time. After making it I figured why not actually try and make a cake. The first cake I made was cooked very well but broke when taking it out of he pan. After wasting a couple of hours moping around I make the next cake and it came out pretty well. Then I had to keep making more fondant because it was never enough. Eventually it was put on the cake and the decorating finally began. The thief took several attempts and remakes before we even got him close to up. I had fun with making the night sky effects and the brick design. The the thief's bag is made out of sugar (first time seriously playing with it).
Overall it was fun to make this this cakes even with all the mini meltdowns I had. Oh and I have to thank my family for letting use and take over the kitchen for three days, and putting up with my insanity of even thinking of making and entry for threadcakes.
