Description
How can you stay mad at this adorable bear? We just wanted to squeeze him as much as he was squeezing his opponent. Our rendition of this design shows this bear caught red-handed, acting on his impulse.
The cake was made of chocolate cupcakes covered in chocolate buttercream frosting, the color you would expect for teddy bears. Six cupcakes were used for the body of the standing bear, and four for the body of the sitting bear. Additional cupcake pieces were used for the appendages of both bears. First each cupcake was trimmed and stacked in pairs. Each unit was carefully carved, and then each bear was assembled separately and covered with frosting. Last but not least, the two bears were put together, and details for the faces and seams were piped on.
Because there was no way to incorporate the thought bubbles hovering over the "bad teddy", we decided to modify the design to clearly show his intention toward the other bear. It was also convenient because the standing bear was able to lean on the sitting bear for additional stability without the use of dowels or other supports.
The cuteness of these bears made it tough to cut into this cake, but as dutiful citizens, we had to take our bite out of crime and put a halt to this bear's mischievous ways. If crime always tasted this good, the world would be a much better place.
