Doctor Hoo

Doctor Hoo! I have been eyeing this design for a while now. I love the little owls and just had to make the cake. Realised these little owls are not easy to make 3D! My second year at entering Threadcakes and I enjoyed every minute of putting this together. This is gonna be my annual thing now! I began with the owls first as I knew that would not get done within two days. Painting or piping was my first issue. Did a combination of both in the end. A whole week and a number of trial owls later mum helped with baking a simple sponge cake. Covering the cake with blue icing, and rolling a log of cake in brown icing was the beginning of a good morning for cake decorating. Assembling the little owls onto my oversized log of wood was exciting. I am still not convinced with some of the pieces but was running out of time.
