Description
The cake is a simple yellow cake, (kind-of) covered with marshmallow fondant. The butterfly is made from semisweet chocolate, "fruit-by-the-foot" candy, and kind-of-royal-icing. The flower border is also made from the aforementioned candy. Vanilla buttercream and one chocolate covered cookie dowel holds everything together.
The entire baking/assembly process took 10 hours, more-or-less. It's a bit too sweet, a good sugar source for all-nighters that a student like me tends to pull.
In keeping with the "kind-of" theme throughout this entry, the butterfly is kind-of enantiomeric to the one in the original image.
