Description
My original awesome idea was to have the actual cake make up the design, and then re-do it in the icing on top to be extra awesome. But I've never made a rainbow-y cake before, so turns out I didn't know what I was doing. Instead it ended up just being a plain stripy rainbow cake.. still cool though, right?
The whole thing took.. a few hours. Normally making, icing and decorating a slab cake doesn't take hours, but since I had to split up and dye both the icing and the cake batter six to seven different colours each, it took a while.
I usually make cupcakes, and haven't made regular cake in a LONG time. I used a recipe out of the Joy of Cooking.. turns out it's not my favourite cake. Definitely would try something different next time. The icing, however, was sugary goodness! Really sweet, but it's icing.
