Be Cool

These cupcakes are the first thing we baked in our oven, as we just moved in. They turned out great! My son is learning how to read/spell, so I knew that BE COOL was the best design for him to join in the Threadcake fun too. We let him spell his cupcakes first (and he's been spelling and reading be cool daily) with some birthday letters that he picked out at the store. When it was my turn, I thought I had bought some gel frosting to test out but it was actually gel food coloring. It didn't mix well and tasted odd, but I was proud of my penmanship (gelmanship? cupcakemanship? toomuchsugarship?). We all got together to mix up the frosting for my roommate's cupcakes. We took turns stirring up the colors and seeing if they were bright enough. He did some piping by using some plastic baggies. He even went back after the pictures were taken to add more to his cupcakes. Throughout the weekend we almost finished all of them off. If you are what you eat, we'll be cool times three!
