Technicolour Rex

The Technicolour Rex is my favorite t-shirt. After hearing about this contest, I was very excited to turn it into a cake! Though all of the 3-D/rolled fondant cakes are absolutely beautiful, I've always been a purist when it comes to cakes. I think that everything on a cake should not only be edible, but tasty as well! It breaks my heart when the prettiest part of an edible creation ends up picked or scraped off on the side of the plate. I used only butter cream for decoration, and white funfetti cake for the palette. The whole process took about 8 hours, including baking, freezing, and decorating. The eating part was very speedy, as cake-eating usually is! There's also a certain joy that comes from turning all of your teeth black with dessert.
