Description
This is my first year doing Threadcakes. I found out about this contest while browsing the Bakerella website :) I make cakes as a hobby so I thought this contest would be fun and exciting.
I chose the design "The Bad Seed"...because it reminded me of my four year old son, Jacob. I also loved that the design was very artistic/artsy. I think when it comes to decorating, that is where my strength is.
I just used a simple chocolate cake. The filling is cream cheese frosting with crushed pecans. The cake is covered in marshmallow fondant.
I used airbrush food coloring, and vodka to paint on the fondant. I also used Tylose in my fondant pieces to help it hold its shape.
The whole cake is edible (I didn't use dowels). The only thing not edible is the cardboard the cake sits on :)
