Description
I chose this design primarily for its colorful, looking for something with bright colors and when I saw the Indian chief knew that this was the cake I wanted to do.
The cake is a Madeira sponged cake soaked with mojito syrup and stuffed with Swiss meringue pineapple. This is the first time I make a cake with these characteristics so it has been a challenge for me.
I Cut the cake in layers, giving way to build image as realistic as possible, playing with the heights so that in some areas there are more layers of cake than in the other.
To make the features of the face I was putting fondant to shape before covering. Initially I covered it with white fondant in its entirety, giving it the base form especially in the face and then go implement all parts of color.
For the finishing touch I used black dye diluted in vodka applied with a brush, so you get to shade the colors and much more realism. Some areas are hand painted with diluted dye gel.
I hope you like my creation and above all excuse my English, is not as good as I wanted.
Congratulations for the contest, is fantastic.
Regards, Dario Garcia.
