When I Was A Pumpkin

Description
To start, I baked four layers of my favorite cold oven pound cake. And, since this was a jack o' lantern cake, I filled and frosted the layers with pumpkin cinnamon buttercream. Yum. After stacking and carving, I covered the cake in orange fondant. The face, stem, and candle are also created from fondant.
I worked on the cake a little at a time over six days. Usually, I would have finished sooner, but I ended up taking a break for a couple of days to meet my new nephew. The cake still tasted great, though. The fondant kept the layers nice and moist and full of pumpkin-y goodness.
