Description
I choose this design because it reminded me of the scary stories we would tell around the our fire pit. Plus I thought the reactions on their faces were ridiculously cute.
The process of baking and constructing the cake took 3 days. The graham cracker part of the cake is red velvet without the red dye and the center cake which makes up the marshmallow is white chocolate. I used 4 types of frosting, buttercream and fondant on the graham cracker. The fondant was a mixture of white and chocolate, the marshmallow is 7 minute frosting that is has a light marshmallowy texture and flavor. I used the chocolate ganache for the melted chocolate. The figures are made of pure fondant. Using food coloring I airbrushed the cracker to give a realistic look and the marshmallow to show charring. Instead of the thought bubble, I told the story with the cake showing the X-ed eyes and frowns on the graham cracker and marshmallow.
