Wolf s Night Off

The 12 moons in this design reminded me of cupcakes so that's where I started... I made some chocolate cupcakes and added back food colouring to the batter to get as dark a colour as I could reminiscent of the background of the design. I used one of my most favourite types of frosting a marshmallow frosting based on Italian meringue. For the decorations i drew the designs on paper and placed wax paper on top of them so that i could still see them. I traced them using melted chocolate that I put into a piping bag. I used black food colouring to create dimension and give a bit of contrast to the moons and then piped melted white chocolate over the top of it all. then I waited for the chocolate to set up, assembled them, and best of all ate them! The process took several hours and I did it over 2 evenings after work.
