Description
Hello again! I did this cake for my twelfth birthday. I wanted something relatively challenging, and I have to say, I found it! Let's get started!
The cake was chocolate with salted caramel filling. For the filling, I just mixed caramel sauce into frosting. Then, for the outside, I did a layer of fudge frosting. My original plan was to use fondant, but my laziness and desire for chocolate frosting won. So, I colored some of the chocolate frosting black and covered the top with it.
I mixed up a big batch of frosting and dyed it various colors. Then came the piping. I didn't really have a plan, so I just started in a corner and eyeballed it. I cut out the child from a printed design and outlined it with blue. Originally, I was going to place it on the cake and pipe over it, but that didn't work out. I also cut out the taxis since I stink at drawing cars.
I have to say, I'm mighty proud of this cake. I did it without any help, and it turned out pretty good. It was delicious!
