Description
When we heard about a threadless cake competition, we decided to enter it on the spot! It didn't really matter if we won or not, we just wanted to bake a delicious cake that happened to look good.
With that in mind we chose a simple design, one that we could actually turn into a cake. Decorating it with fondant was out of question and we tried to stay away from industrialized products (home made stuff tastes so much better!). After those decisions were made we just had fun with it.
We baked a simple sponge cake, which we filled with our home made strawberry jam. For the toping we made our own whipped cream and used some chocolate coins for the eyes, the mouth and (after melting it) the writing. The whole baking and decorating process took around 3 hours. The eating didn't take that long. Mission completed!
