Ramen ses Return cake by Lynn Smith

Description

Hi everyone this is my second time entering threadcakes I love all the designs I had a short list since last year but it Stil took ages to decide.
I thought RKT would be the best for this cake because of the shape so I made a regular cake shape and cut it up and shaped all the body parts, I put a central dowel down through the cake board to support the structure the arma and legs have florest wire in them too I used royal icing to stick all the bits together and to glue it to the cake board, the RKT head proved to be too heavy and I had to replace it with styrofoam :-( I airbrushed the cake board then
I covered the body with sugarpaste then I used my strip cutter to make the noodles to cover his body it took aprox 10 hours and 160 strips.
Meanwhile I made the bowl and chopsticks from pastillage, I put the pastillage in a plastic bowl to get the shape and left it overnight t dry, i added a plinth at the bottom and painted the design, (it took ages to get the right shade of blue) I positioned the bowl on the board with royal icing to secure it, I airbrushed the chopsticks and stuck them on with royal icing, I gave noodle man his eyes and airbrushed him with brown to give him a more animated look, then I dusted with black to create a few shadows, took hundreds of photos to get the right look and then came the hard part the eating I have a sweet tooth but it was hard to demolish him after all that hard work, my daughter thought it would be funny to put his head in the bowl for a photo, it took a total of about 25 hours over 5 days, hope you like him as much as I do, thanks for looking
Lynn
