Hipster Zeus Guys Pima Baseball Tee

This was my first time attempting a cake this detailed and it turned out better than I anticipated. No major problems. I started out with a vanilla pound cake and a vanilla butter-cream. A friend of mine helped me to build that stand from a Masonite cake round, a metal base, and some PVC pipe. I stacked and frosted the cakes. After letting it set in the fridge I covered the whole thing with a layer of modeling chocolate. His face and beard are made from modeling chocolate. The glasses are made of fondant with a little tylose powder added for stability. After modeling his face and beard I put the glasses on using a toothpick at the bridge of his nose and a little bit of water at his temples. Then I painted his eyes and glasses using some water mixed with petal dust. After letting that dry I dusted the entire cake with petal dust to give it more depth and texture. It was a fun cake to make and my class enjoyed eating Zeus for a treat.
