Description
I've been decorating cakes in a regular basis for about 7 years now. I have a fine arts degree, and cake has become my major medium. This year I actually quit my secure job to start my own cake business - Project Cakes (www.projectcakes.com). I'm practiced in buttercream and fondant, but I'm team buttercream. I've used no fondant on Gentleman T here. It took about two full day's work to complete - one day to bake, carve, and crumbcoat, the second to frost. I used chocolate cake (my husband's favorite recipe), and a small bit of Rise Krispie Treat for his pinky finger. There are three plastic support rods in his neck to hold a cake board to support his head. I chose this one because my sister was a big Mr T fan in the 80s, and has asked in the past that I make her a Mr T cake...so here it is! It was quite delicious, and I ate way more than I should have!
