This is my 2nd entry into Threadcakes competition, I picked out my designs and drooled over them for months, slowly narrowing it down to my favourite, then I realise its due in less than a week so I quickly change to one of my other favourites.

This cake started life at 4.30 in the afternoon and was finished at 1.16am the following morning. I made it for my Stepson's birthday and was loved by everyone at his birthday dinner..

This cake started as an 8" round red velvet cake which was layered with butter cream and then shaped to resemble the head. Then crumb coated with butter cream and put into the fridge to cool and set.

Meanwhile I coloured the fondant to look like flesh/beige and made the cheeks and eyebrows to go under the main layer. Once the cake was cool enough I rolled out the fondant and smoothed it into all the important areas.

When this was smooth enough I started airbrushing the details and highlights. Then adding the eyes, nose and tongue. when these are all done I added the ears and airbrushed the rest of the cake RED...
