Nom Nom

This is my first Threadcakes entry! I've looked forward to looking at the entries every year, and this year I decided I would give it a try.

I chose this little fella because his existential crisis spoke to me. I mean, what are the implications of discovering you are delicious? It's kind of the perfect example (in this case, literal) of why you can't have your cake and eat it too.

The cake has a base of rice crispy treats covered with modeling chocolate and my yellow cake for the top half. I staggered the top layers so they would appear to be melting down the back of his head. I covered the whole thing in dark chocolate ganache and used my homemade modeling chocolate again to make the drippy pink ice cream. Next came the arms and legs, which were also made of modeling chocolate. The backdrop was made last, with the word bubble positioned so it would match the t shirt design when looked at from an angle. I chose a more realistic approach with the shading, which gave him a more zombie like appearance. I felt like doing so underscores the darker implications of his tasty dilemma.
