Description
So i was really wanting to do a Threadcakes entry for my daughters 3rd birthday this year and wanted to find a design that she would not only love but that would challenge me as a cake decorator.
My first thought when i saw this design was "Awesome! its a teddy bear riding a unicorn" and my next thought was "im going to make it fly!". I then spent the next 3 weeks trying to figure out exactly how i was going to do that :)
For the Unicorn i made chocolate Madeira Cake filled with strawberry buttercream and covered in white chocolate ganache. The unicorn was then covered in a 50/50 mix of modeling chocolate and fondant.
The Teddy bear was made from mixed berry and white chocolate mud cake filled with strawberry buttercream and covered in white chocolate ganache. He was then covered in fondant.
The tail and horn were made from pastillage and the arms, legs and head were made from modeling chocolate.
I hope you love the cake as much as my 3 year old did :) I learnt alot and am very proud of how it turned out.
