Cookie Loves Milk cake by Tnicolle Stinedurf

Description

This cake was inspired by my 4 year old niece Teegan. Her mom ordered her the Milk and Cookie T Shirt for her first day of preschool. This is still her most favorite shirt.

Box Cake Mix
Can Frosting
Fondant
Wafer Paper
smoothie straws
piece of wire wrapped in tin foil tape
foam core board
cake board
parchment paper
cookie sheet
round cookie cutter
square cookie cutter
hot glue gun

Make a box cake mix, pour into a lined cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes

Once baked cool and cut into 6 squares using square cookie cutter then freeze to firm the cake up

while cake is firming put the remaining cake scrapes in a bowl and add 2 table spoons canned frosting. Mix till you can form a ball then shape into a large cookie shape. Place on a plate and push two smoothie straws into the bottom for legs. Now place in the freezer.

Now create the structure by cutting a piece of foam core smaller than your square cookie cutter. Put two holes in the center and push the two straws through to create the legs and support for the cake.

Start stacking cake squares with frosting between each layer. Once you reach the top use remaining cake ball mixture and shape it into a triangle for the top of the milk carton. Then add final layer of frosting.

Apply wafer paper to the frosting bending and cutting the edges and corners. I used three layers of wafer paper to get a nice opaque white color.

Add details to carton

Take the cookie cake pop out of the freezer. Roll out light brown fondant and cut using your circle cookie cutter to make the cookies front and back side. Next cut a long strip of fondant for the middle of the cookie.

Add details to the cookie.

Next hot glue straws to a cake board so the carton and cookie stand side by side. Cover their legs with the left over light brown fondant.

Add their arms at the end.
