So here it is. I choose to showcase humble Abe. For his ability to explain profound realitiesin simple words. Thanks to his mastery of LOGIC. A Lot was gained for betterment of humanity owing to his reasoning and logic. Let us celebrate the true spirit of Abe. The finger separating gesture standing for Live Long and Prosper. I choose to bake a vanilla cake from scratch filled with chocolate ganache as it would be a completely carved cake and it needs to be a bit sturdy. And yes it is 97% cake in there. Only the hands being made of RKT. This cake was extremely challenging as Lincoln was facing on one angle and to get a realistic features right, My eyes were sore by frequent comparison between the graphic and the cake version. Lol. And yes it did not stop there. I choose to custom cutr a cake tin to get the supporting bottom shape and wrapped it with clingwrap and ganached all the supporting wire and covered up for the frame. I choose a flatwire and bottom part of the cake tin also had a little wiring stuck to the cake tin to stick all the frame mouldings. Did it stop there? NO. I used normal Wilton moulds and shaped it up to match the mouldings in the graphic image. On top of that I worked with Royal icing to get extra texture and shape. For the first time, I did string work and it worked. So lot of description done here. I adore this cake and me and my little son shared the yum cake after cutting. I hope you all like my work and I am super proud of this cake. Hope I did some justice to the artists work and our Great former President! Cheers.
