Melting Sun

I've been excited for this contest since I found out about it last year! My background is in ceramics, and I am a prosthetic sculptor and painter. I fell in love with painting on fondant when I made my sister's wedding cakes, but baking is not my strong suit, so I just made some cupcakes! I also cheated a little and I'm including multiple designs in one entry. The fondant is handmade, and all the designs are painted with gel food coloring. I am consistently blown away by all the other entries, I promise to devote some time to baking and cake sculpting in time for next year's contest! ;)
