Hiding cake by Kylie Marks

Description

I chose this design to transform into a cake as the monochromatic design caught my eye, along with the amazing creature, the chameleon. I also thought it would be a relatively easy design to do.....I was wrong! It is incredibly hard to keep my shaky hands straight while hand painting. I made this cake over a period of 2 days. Baking and ganaching on the first day, along with covering and decorating the board. On the second day I covered in fondant, then the fun part of hand painting. This process took a LONG time, maybe about 4-5 hours all up. The final finishing touches were added (did you notice the writing hidden on the board?), then my son had the fun task of cutting into and eating the cake. The cake was a 4 layered chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling.....yummmmmm. The cake has now been cut up into servings and will be given to family and put in the freezer when you get that chocolate cake craving. I hope you enjoy looking at my photos :)
