Living in Harmony!
We thought we’d team up to bake this glorious cake to surprise our buddy Jordan (who’s a beast on the guitar) for his 20th birthday dinner. We chose to make the acoustic side a classic chocolate, while the electric side we chose the ever so wild funfetti! We got the best of both worlds!
This was our first time making fondant and we had a blast. Originally we wanted to cover the entire cake with black fondant, but ended up fallin short of time, fondant, and food coloring. So we decided to improvise and crumble the scraps of cake that we had left and throw em along the walls of the cake. We worked it out and got it from my house to the restaurant intact and semi on time (you can see a photo of it perfectly fitting in the trunk of a car :)
After everyone finished dinner we ran to the car and carried it from where we parked to the restaurant and got quite a few stares along the way. We didn’t warn the restaurant ahead of time about the size of the cake, so we just left it in the trunk and whipped it out after we finished eating. It was a major success & we made it all before dinner!
