Description
Our friend, Spencer, was turning 20 and I was put in charge of the cake. He is a die-hard Threadless fan and his Communist Party t-shirt is my favorite from the site. The tee's party theme was also apt for a celebration. Spencer is half-Vietnamese and ate the head of Ho Chi Minh, also aptly :).
This cake was a two day process. I baked two yellow cakes and one red velvet cake for the base. I brewed up and homemade fondant and had fun mixing in yellow and red food coloring. It took about 4 hours to build the Soviet hamme, sickle, and star, coat every thing in fondant, and draw the faces of the famous communists.
Very tasty in the end! Che Guevara is my favorite revolutionary, so I ate him. !Ole! Spencer took home the 3-D, drunk Karl Marx and his lampshade hat.
