Description
Every once in a while when I eat cake, the main thing that comes to my mind is: "this needs more dead birds on it."
Early one Saturday morn (around 11am or so) we endeavoured to solve this problem. We drove to the store and procured two boxes of cake (one strawberry and one funfetti), four bags of marshmallows, and four bags of powdered sugar. Little did we know that these few ingredients would test our patience for the next thirteen and a half hours (with a one hour power-nap at around 6).
We baked the cakes in the traditional manner and then frosted them with vanilla buttercream. The fondant was made from a recipe we found on youtube. The birds are rice crispy treats covered with fondant.
When all was said and done, we took the cake to our friend's 21st birthday party and all the guests bit off bird heads like Ozzy Osborne.
