Puppet In Love

This cake took us one day to decorate, we baked the cupcakes the night before so they would be completely cool & ready to frost. We decided to go with red velvet cupcakes & use the cupcake tower to give our image the same height as the picture. This design is very sweet & whimsical so we kept all the cupcakes at different angles to try & achieve the same feel. Our Puppets are made completely out of fondant. The heart & puppet strings are made using Red Vanilla candy wafers. We melted the wafers & then used a squeeze bottle to pipe the strings. The heart was made as one piece with uncooked candy covered spaghetti noodles attached to the back to make the string coming out of the top.

We are waiting for our friends to come over to actually eat the cupcakes but the candy pieces & frosting we tasted along the way were delicious!
