Coexistence cake by Heidi Butler

Description

Börk, Börk, Börk!

I love the design of the "Coexistence" t-shirt and the name greatly inspired the flavors! This cake is comprised of one of the greatest unions of our world: the coexistence of chocolate and peanut butter! I made four layers of dark chocolate cake, with a peanut butter icing, and vanilla-almond fondant accents.
I've actually made a chocolate and peanut butter cake before for my sister's birthday last year, and loved the flavors. The recipe produces a super moist, rich cake. I frosted it with several colors to mimic the sunset and then cut the buildings/trees out of fondant. Personally, I hate the taste of fondant, but its just so darn fun to work with! I made it once before, but this time I added vanilla AND almond extract and I think it tastes pretty good! I painted on the windows and deer with gel food coloring and a couple drops of water.
I gave it away because I couldn't eat it all myself.. it turned out huge!

So fun! Many of the cakes on here are INCREDIBLE! I love cake competitions!
