Pillow Fight

This cake took us one day and three trips to walmart. My mom and I made this cake together. The base is a red velvet sheet cake and iced with homeade buttercream frosting. The pillows are sculpted out of pound cake. Both the pillows and the base sheet cake are covered in fondant, and the faces and details on the pillows as well as the feathers on the sheet cake are made of fondant. All of the fondant was originally white, so we dyed it using gel food coloring to achieve the different shades of blue neccessary for the cake. This cake was definitely a challenging project, but it was also a lot of fun and not to mention tasty!
