Eclipse!

This is my first foray into cake decorating. The process took about two days. I used yellow cake mix with buttercream frosting and a marshmallow fondant recipe I found on the internet. Kneading the marshmallow goo to a more appetizing dough consistency and coloring it took nearly as long as shaping the sun and moon figures. I'm not sure my hands will ever stop smelling like frosting, but the blue and yellow food coloring on my hands has finally washed out, so I no longer look like a discolored Smurf. I still have half a cake to eat my way through, and tons of extra fondant, which tastes especially delicious frozen.
