The internet was closed so I thought I'd come outside today.

This cake was made for my fathers birthday. He is on his MacBook 24/7 so I thought this would be a fun theme to use for the cake. It is a chocolate cake with dulce de leche poured over the top. The screen is made out of rice krispies covered in white and milk chocolate. It took me two days to complete the whole thing. I had a very hard time with the screen because it was not solid enough. I was about to give up on the design when I had the idea to cover it in chocolate. I am not a very experienced cake decorator and this is only the fourth cake I have done with fondant. So many of these cakes are AMAZING that I was not even sure if I would enter but my family talked me into it. It was a lot of fun to make (once I figured out the screen) and I was very pleased by how surprised my father was when we gave it to him. The cake was very yummy and I think it looked even better when it was half eaten. I can't wait until next year and I will definitely try to enter more than one cake if I have the time.
