My Crony

Here's our cake. My boyfriend and I made it during one evening. We used two boxes of cake, vanilla and chocolate flavored, a few cans of icing, black gel, food dye, and marshmallow fondant we made. First we baked the cakes, a thin bottom for the sky, and a circle for the moon. Then we mixed the fondant and made a branch and the owl. We painted them with food dye using toothpicks and used some frosting for the owl's body. We cut out a portion of the bottom layer so the moon would be closer to it and the branch and the owl could rest more easily. Then we mixed the rest of the blue dye into the blue frosting to make it darker, and spread it over the bottom layer. We fit the moon in and placed the branch and the owl on to it. Then we spread some sprinkles for stars.
