I only fight if pillows are present.

I had a lot of fun making this cake. I didn’t want to do an exact replica of a design but instead wanted to do some interpretation. I got the idea after browsing through all of the cool t-shirt designs and this one spoke to me right away.

I made the cakes over a three day period since I really didn’t know how much cake I would actually need. The pillow and egg are made out of the stacked cake layers carved to resemble an egg on a pillow. Both parts of the cake are covered in fondant (this looks much easier on TV). The eyes, mouth, feathers and speech bubble are made out of gumpaste, let dry and spray painted with food coloring. The feet and hands are rice cereal treats covered in colored fondant.

We had a good time eating the egg cake even though it was sad to see him go.
