This is my second (and surely not last) entry for Threadcakes...I am hooked! I love this design because it reminds me of how i used to take rubix cubes apart to try and solve them, plus it is just really sweet. I started with a BC pound cake, and carved it down to a 3x3x3 square (well it was that shape after icing was added). Buttercream stuck it all together and fondant brought it to life. I still have to figure out how to get sharper edges on square cakes. The details were stamped and hand painted using gel colours. The decoration time was pretty quick, well under two hours in total.
I can see a lot of things that i would have done differently now that it is done, but i guess that is all part of the learning process (and i still have LOTS to learn!). Now to go scrub off all the colouring that got on my hands when stamping haha :D Thanks for looking.
