Renaissance Rocks

How freakin' cool is Mona Lisa in Kiss makeup, sporting tattoos on her hands and dressed in rock regalia? Well this design inspired me to try to make it all happen in 3-D. There was allot of cake to stack, fondant to roll, and rice krispies to shape. When it was all done, Mona took about 4 days for me to complete. Her face is rice krispies covered in fondant and then sculpted. Her hands are fondant as well, with all tattoos and face makeup done in edible ink marker. To do the "shading" on her, I brushed unsweetend cocoa across all of the white fondant to give her more depth of shape. Lots of black fondant draped to make her clothes across the many layers of cake.
Why Mona? Because inside every hard rockin' gal, is a soft pink fluffy cake just waiting to get out!
