I Was Here cake by Cassandra Sakamoto

Description

This is my FIFTH and LAST Threadcake...for this year anyway. All of my "cake stories" have been really short. Since this is my last one I will be writing a novel (or at least a pamphlet...brochure?)!

I do not think I stand a chance at winning this thing (have you SEEN the cakes on this...RIDICULOUS!) but I will be back next year and it will be BIGGER, BADDER and MORE AWESOME (yeah I kind of quoted Ace of Cakes...HEY MARY ALICE!!!).

I found "I Was Here" and thought "THAT. IS. SO. FUNNY!!!"

I drink copious amounts of coffee at work and for some reason I am super duper messy. This messiness causes me to leave coffee rings around my desk. Yep, I was there!

I make a cake...FROM SCRATCH this time. A pound cake.

Then I cut out the mug shape then chilled it and went to make the arms and the talk bubble. While it dried and my cake chilled I ran to Costco with my sister and her baby.

When I finally got home I covered the cake and the cake board with white fondant.

After that I started to paint the fondant...and that is when I noticed that my fondant was sticky. I swear I ALWAYS see people chill their cakes, why can't I? Perhaps its because I live in a tropical climate...I don't know.

SO anyway the fondant was sticky and it made painting hard...very hard.

After that I stuck on the arms and he was ready for his close up.

I love him.

After that (wow I use the word "after" a lot) I cut him open. Then I killed him!!!!!

BWAHAHAHAHHA!

This was fun! See you all next year.
