Emo Bear cake by Christina burgess

Description

Emo Bear is my hubby's favorite tee. Sadly, it's sold out and I don't really think there is any hope of a re-print so I thought I would give him an edible version!.

I built the cake and then used cake crumb to mold the legs, arms and head. I really wanted to make a cake without inedible supports so this was going to be it. Yep, no supports used...just cake. I let the cakes firm up and then crumb coated with buttercream. I also used the buttercream to help sculpt the nose and cheeks of the face.

After that set up, it was time for the fun part, decoration! He was covered in grey fondant and then I made all the details and applied them. I thought it would be fun to include a hand made rose and lady bug. "Awww, look at little Emo Bear who is all sad even though there is beauty all around!"

He was delicious! And I am glad to say I completed him with no inedible supports, he's just cake, frosting and crumbs! Let me tell you, those crumbs are awesome!!
