Description
Jon and Moy began their cake making adventures while they were apprentices at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Yes, at first their cakes were for birthdays but soon blossomed into a full fledged passion. This scrabbletastic cake took approximately 9 hours and a half case of beer to complete, including baking time. Measuring and scaling the design was a large part of the day, including fun math skills neither Jon nor Moy had employed in years. Jon and Moy, or Neon Squirrel Cake Company, as they so lovingly call themselves used their 20" circular cake pan and about three batches of cake batter to complete this masterpiece. Gel food coloring was used to garner the perfect scrabble board beige, teal, light teal, and pink. The tiles were constructed out of a mix of peanut butter and sugar cookies (the variation in colors of the finished cookies allowed for more realistic tile representation). All in all Jon and Moy had a fantastic day of baking and decorating. Upon finishing and realizing they had a cake that would feed over 50, the pair trucked the cake over to their friend Stephen Tyler Davis' house where he was having a gathering. The yummy concoction was devoured by hungry party-goers and the Neon Squirrel Cake Company sighed a large sigh of relief as their day of hard work was over. The End.
