We've Got Some Work To Do Now

The cake is a sort of dense chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream. Scooby and Velma as well as the icing on the van are all made out of fondant. I tried to use as little wire and cocktail sticks as possible, there are some in Velma, and a piece of wire in Scooby's tail. The outside of the rack on top of the van and the lights have wire for support but that's about it. This is my tried and tested chocolate cake so I've made it many times before and it's pretty delicious. All in all it took me about 3 weeks but I was working at a pretty leisurely pace and most of that was me leaving days and days between making one part and the next. The figures took the longest because it took so long for each part to dry. Baking the cake itself and all the icing only took me about 4 days.
