Put The Needle On The Record

This cake was the second try. The first one we did last week didn't quite work. We baked and stacked the cakes one night and the next day we did the icing and decorating. I would say we spent about four hours or more on it.

It's a checkerboard cake made with yellow and devil's food cake. The icing is just buttercream and the middle is a thrown together hard tact candy. The cake was really good and pretty moist. We served it at a party and everyone really enjoyed it.
