We're Toast

I chose this design because it was one of my first shirts I bought and I am in-love with toast with a face. I first had I thought of putting toast, frozen waffles, and bagels on the cake but that got to be a little much for the size of the cake. I found these frozen french toast eggo waffles and decided that they were a perfect size and looked like pieces of bread so they would be perfect to put on the cake. My mom helped me bake and put everything together it took us about 2 days. We baked the cake one night and made the frosting and put it all together the next day. We used red velvet and confetti cake with butter cream icing colored orange, gray, and black. The plug to the toaster is a licorice strip which is also the pupil of the toasters eyes. The red part of the eyes are made with red jellied half circle candies. The eyebrows are made out of lasagna that I dyed red and broke into pieces. I made the toaster from the 6inch cake pan and cut it into a rectangle and then cut out two little slots on the top. There is one toothpick holding up each eye so that they would not fall down. I used the black frosting to make faces on each piece of "bread" that was placed on the cake. My mother and I had a blast making this cake and are already thinking about the next one we should do. The cake in all was delicious, I do prefer the red velvet though.
