I totally freaked out when I found this web site (thank you, Cake Wrecks!) as this is like one of my dreams came true. So many challenges, so many amazing entries, so many excellent bakers and all will be so hard to beat!
When I found The Cheshire (cat) I fell in love immediately. This is my favorite character from my favorite story so I decided to start with Mr. Cat.
I spent all weekend baking making almost everything from scratch. Well, I didn't milk the cow and didn't churn the butter but I didn't have any marshmallow to glue together the cereal puffs for creating the head. Using cereal treats seemed so easy in Cake Boss. I hated it really, as it fell apart and I had to use the extra batch of sugar syrup to glue it together.
I'm not a big fan of food coloring but I’m not a magician either and cannot make my Cheshire to vanish and re-appear again, I therefore decided to create a rainbow centre instead to give it a little sparkle.
I gave it to my co-worker as a birthday cake and she was very happy to be a model on my pictures whilst she ate it.
This is just a warm up. “I'll be back...”
(I didn't use any inedible support till the moment I needed to transport it to the office. Then I used three skewers.)
