Some College Somewhere

Threadcake number 3!

I don't have the time and I resources I used to, being a professional student now, so I needed a real REASON to make this cake.

My inspiration came from my kid sister- ok, maybe less a kid now. She's 17 and currently touring university after university, trying to decide where to begin the rest of her life. I feel like I just did the same thing yesterday- don't you?

While I went the medical route, my dear sis is far more creative than I. Fine art and design programs are her focus, a field which I cannot imagine breaking into- or surviving.

Each of our searches do have a common thread, though. At 17, my sister and I have each had trouble seeing differences between the myriad of schools we toured. The exploration days begin to run together; the excited admissions officials all start to seem the same.

So I knew she would appreciate this cake, because it bears the emblem of the exact school she wants to attend. Some school. Somewhere. For something. And for this past weekend, as she endured more school spirit programs and campus walks, my little sis at least got an hour or so of rest as she enjoyed this vertical-layered Threadcake!
