Never argue with a 90 degree angle. It's always right. cake by Amy Stenzel

Description

I thought this would be a pretty simple design to re-create, but unfortunately I didn't anticipate the challenge of cutting the letters out of fondant and keeping everything to scale. I made four colors of fondant using marshmallows. I baked a "funfetti" cake from a mix and cut it into a triangle. Next I covered the cake with black fondant, and painted it with black food coloring. I rolled out the fondant with a wine bottle, because I don't own a rolling pin and cut the letters and triangles out. Since I flavored the fondant with peppermint extract, so it actually tasted quite nice. The whole process took me about 10 hours, and it was quite messy as you can see from the pictures. I managed to get food coloring all over the bottoms of my feet... don't ask me how. Overall I'm happy with the way this cake turned out.
