Use Your Brain

Description
I searched the gallery of designs about 9 times until finally settling on the green zombie-like-skeletal gross thing that was colorful and just looked like it would be fun to make. The gooey brains are a fondant/gum paste mix and the 3-D hand is all in gumpaste. It wasn't particularly hard to make because the coloring was messy in the design, which was right up my alley.
The cake is vanilla basil; a recipe I created myself. Its pretty good without the icing, however I decided to add a splash of Captain Morgan's rum to the baked cake and it made it a whole lot happier.
Its covered with homemade fondant and painted with food gels and dusting powders.
I really enjoyed this one and sincerely want to thank Chris for the Threadcakes competition. I love looking at all the wonderful designer cakes every year. Most of them are priceless.
