Vegetarian Zombie

When I seen this one I knew I had to make it, i have been dying to make a zombie cake forever! I am a HUGE Walking Dead fan and I seen this design I knew I had to make it. I started it on Thursday and finished on Saturday morning. I tried to keep the structure simple with just a threaded rod (covered in a bubble tea straw) a small wooden disc and a piece of foam core for support. It was a complicated design to try to recreate, the opening of the mouth in particular. He is chocolate fudge cake with caramel buttercream, his neck is made from a cake/buttercream mix, his wrist is chocolate and the apple is Rice krispie treat. His bottom jaw is also white chocolate held in place with a cocktail stick, I wasn't sure this would hold but it worked out great. He is covered in white chocolate ganache and then Satin Ice fondant. He is completely airbrushed. I really didn't want to cut him up. I loved making him and I have a few ideas for next year already!
